#WhatIf BBC Sport facilitated a night of discussion and debate? Well they just did!

A good week in Manchester just got even on Thursday evening when Women in Football members were able to share a great night of discussion, debate and networking at BBC Sport's Media City HQ in Salford.

As a #WhatIf pledge to our campaign, the BBC provided a top-class venue for us to stage a special event as Women in Football continues its week-long stay taking our Leadership Courses to the north west for the first time.

Following another successful Day 3 of the course, Women in Football chair Ebru Köksal hot-footed over to Salford to welcome the guests at Media City and introduce host for the night, Reshmin Chowdhury.

Reshmin then took centre stage, expertly interweaving a couple of films explaining about the work Women in Football do and the #WhatIf campaign, with a fascinating panel discussion.

The list of panellists was of the highest order - Anna Thompson (Women's Sport Lead & Assistant Editor, BBC Sport Interactive), Jo Tongue (CEO of Tongue Tied Media & Women in Football board member), Karen Bardsley, (goalkeeper, Manchester City and England) and Kieran Theivam (The Athletic, women’s football correspondent).

And so too was the debate, with all four panellists sharing great insight and knowledge on their views of the future of women's football, the issues that can and do affect the game right now and possible solutions too.

The evening ended with an opportunity for guests and panellists to have a drink and a good old chat (or networking as some prefer to say!).

We would like to extend our thanks to BBC Sport for your hospitality, Reshmin, the panel and everyone who came along to help make it another special Women in Football night.
