Back in May, The Telegraph made a fantastic #WhatIf pledge to Women in Football; to offer two paid week-long work experience placements on The Telegraph Women’s Sport (TWS), working with Women in Football founder and board member, Anna Kessel MBE.
Telegraph Women’s Sport launched in March and marks an unprecedented approach to covering women’s sporting achievements and stories, in print and online.
And if you’re successful in gaining a placement on this new scheme, you’ll be able to see up close how a successful sports newspaper is created and put together, as well as shadowing members of the editorial team, working on projects and creating your own presentation.
It’s the chance of a lifetime, and one that will give you a real insight into the world of sports journalism. Applications are open to under-represented groups, including women and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
To be considered for a placement, you must be over 18, an EEA resident able to work or train in the UK, and should be able to show a passion for sports journalism, either through a personal blog or website, or via extra-curricular activities.
Applications for the placements close on Thursday 11 July 2019, so there’s no time to waste – head over to The Telegraph website here to find out more and apply.
