Megan Rapinoe bagged a brace as World Cup holders USA edged past tournament hosts France 2-1 to set up a semi final showdown with England in Lyon on Tuesday 2 July.
Rapinoe hit a goal in each half, the first a low free-kick that went in through a crowd of players, the second a side-foot finish.
France ensured it was a grandstand finale when Wendie Renard reduced the arrears with a smart header nine minutes from time.
But America dug in and drew on all their experience to see the game out and secure their place in the last four.
Phil Neville's Lionesses had booked their semi final spot 24 hours earler with a 3-0 win against Norway in Le Havre.
Jill Scott got Lionesses off to a dream start after barely three minutes, sweeping home with a shot that went in off the post.
Ellen White grabbed her fifth goal of the tournament to double England's lead, producing a sublime finish following a sumptuous move involving Nikita Parris and Lucy Bronze.
Rampaging right-back Bronze sealed victory with a sizzling 20-yard second-half strike.
