Calling all footballers - researchers at University of Liverpool want to hear from you!

A team of psychology practitioners and researchers the University of Liverpool are currently undertaking a research study.

On The Head, a team of psychology practitioners and researchers based at the University of Liverpool, are currently undertaking a research study - and they want to hear from women footballers.

The research is aiming to better understand factors influencing the mental health and well-being of academy, professional and recently retired male and female footballers.

Andy Bethell, clinical psychologist in training at the University of Liverpool, explained: “We are working to understand more about mental health and well-being in football.

"Findings from our research will help us to develop better support for players during and beyond their careers in football.

"We're looking for current and former academy, professional and semi-professional players to take part in our research.

"We have had an excellent response thus far from female players, many of which have shared the study on their social media profiles, but would love for even more female players to take part in the research.”

The online survey takes 10-15 minutes to complete and is 100% strictly confidential. Players are not asked for any identifiable information.
