Former Women in Football board member Ruth Shaw has been named in Women of the Future's inaugural Kindness & Leadership 50 Leading Lights list, recognising the contribution of kind leaders to business, the economy and society.
Ruth, who is now General Manager of the Premier League Charitable Fund, was included in a list of 50 alongside the likes of England manager Gareth Southgate.
The Kindness & Leadership 50 Leading Lights campaign is designed to celebrate kindness and has been launched to challenge how business celebrates success. The business world is quick to praise leaders of profitable and productive workplaces, but these celebrations often overlook the role played by kindness.
Kindness makes business sense; it impacts outcomes, whether it be productivity, engagement or customer service. People do not forget acts of kindness.
Kind leaders change lives, transform organisations and foster true collaboration; they inspire creativity and productivity, share meaningful connections, and give their time so that others can give their best. By empowering others to succeed, kind leaders create an environment for the organisation as a whole to succeed.
It is fantastic to see Ruth recognised for her contribution - and continued kindness that is not only a strength in her leadership, but a quality and a currency that empowers change for those around her.
