Vikki Orvice - great opportunity for WiF members to learn from top sports writer
WiF director and top sports writer Vikki Orvice is hosting a special writing masterclass as part of the Changing Futures For Women In Sports Media event at Northampton University on Thursday 8 February.
Vikki has been a staff football writer with The Sun since 1995, the first female appointment of its kind by a tabloid in this country.
Her work has since taken her from the Conference to European Championships and World Cups.
Vikki will be offering her experience and expertise as part of a University-wide careers week which is called 'Changing Futures Week'.
The event at Northampton University is aimed at two sets of attendees. Firstly, current practicing female sports media employees to hear speakers and network.
Secondly, for selected students aged 16-18 to come and take part in Sports journalism, marketing and content creation workshops to see how the professionals do it!
Vikki will be joined by other top professionals including the BBC's Robyn Cowen, who is hosting a Sports Broadcasting Masterclass, whilst Northampton Town FC's Marketing Officer, Charlotte Hyams, will talk about studying sport at the university and working the League One club.
