Inspire the Next Generation of Women Referees
The FA is seeking a passionate and driven Women's Refereeing Recruitment & Retention Officer to help shape the future of women's refereeing in England. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the game by increasing the number and diversity of women referees nationwide and enhancing the experience of women match officials at every stage of the pathway.
Working at the heart of a national strategy, the successful candidate will lead recruitment and retention initiatives that create accessible, inclusive and sustainable routes into refereeing, while collaborating with County FAs, leagues, clubs, education providers and wider football partners to strengthen local pathways, boost engagement and support long-term participation across the women's game.
This role is a part-time position, requiring 3 days per week in role.
What will you be doing?
Lead national recruitment initiatives to increase the number and diversity of women referees, ensuring activity is targeted, evidence-led, and aligned to FA Refereeing Strategy 2035.
Develop and deliver retention strategies that improve engagement, support, confidence, wellbeing and long-term participation for women referees across the grassroots and developing pathway.
Support delivery of the women's refereeing strategic objectives linked to workforce growth and improved referee experience, working closely with the Senior Manager – Women's
Refereeing and wider refereeing department colleagues.
Embed the Refereeing DNA into recruitment, onboarding, development, and engagement activity so that women referees receive a consistent, values-led experience from their first contact with refereeing.
Connect recruitment and retention activity to the National Referee Curriculum, with particular focus on the Foundation and Perform stages to support new referees, developing officials, and those progressing through the early pathway.
Support the identification of high-potential female match officials through targeted talent identification activity, referrals and local partnerships, contributing to the development of a diverse national talent pool
Build strong partnerships with County FAs, leagues, clubs, schools, colleges, universities, community organisations, and education providers to grow local women's referee pathways and diversify routes into refereeing.
Design and coordinate national campaigns, local activation plans, and targeted interventions that encourage women and girls to start, continue, and progress in refereeing.
Monitor workforce data, participant feedback, course conversion, registration, retention, and engagement measures to identify trends, evaluate impact, and inform continuous improvement.
Work with communications, learning, development, safeguarding, and operations colleagues to ensure recruitment and retention activity is joined up, inclusive, safe, and accessible.
Provide regular updates, insight, and recommendations to the Senior Manager – Women's Refereeing on progress against recruitment, retention, experience, and participation objectives.
Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.

About the Role:
The ETC Strength and Conditioning Coach will support the Female Football Development Manager and Senior Female Football Development Coach in the delivery of the Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) programme, ensuring players are physically prepared to train, compete, and develop safely and effectively. The post holder will design and deliver age-appropriate strength and conditioning sessions, supporting the physical development, performance, and wellbeing of players in line with ETC standards and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Planning & Delivery
Design, plan, and deliver an engaging physical performance programme aligned with the Emerging Talent Centre's physical development framework.
Plan and deliver sessions in line with the framework and objectives set by the Female Football Development Manager and Centre Management Team.
Deliver high-quality sessions to individuals and small groups, adapting content to meet the needs of different ages, abilities, and stages of physical maturation. All need to be pitch based!
Athletic Development & Conditioning
Implement age-appropriate on-pitch conditioning sessions that develop key athletic qualities, including speed, power, agility, coordination, and movement efficiency with a footballing focus.
Deliver strength and conditioning sessions, alongside formal monitoring, testing, and evaluation processes to track player development and performance.
Develop and deliver female-specific athletic development programmes for players aged 8-16, with a focus on movement competency, injury prevention, and long-term athlete development.
Provide players with tailored, age-appropriate home training programmes to encourage independent learning and continued physical development outside of ETC sessions.
Player Development & Performance Collaboration
Build strong working relationships with the Female Football Development Manager, coaching staff, and physiotherapy team to maximise player performance, wellbeing, and development.
Collaborate with coaching staff to ensure training loads, work-to-rest ratios, and session intensities are aligned with player development objectives and best practice.

About the Role:
The Targeted Intervention Coordinator is responsible for delivering and coordinating targeted programmes within Burnley FC in the Community’s Targeted Intervention department, with a specific focus on the Police Partnerships Project (It’s Your Turf) and the Premier League Inspires programme. The postholder will deliver high quality 1:1 interventions, group sessions and mentoring, while providing day to day coordination and leadership to PL Inspires Mentors.
Working collaboratively with colleagues, schools, multi-agency partners and statutory services, the postholder will support vulnerable and at-risk young people across Burnley, Pendle and East Lancashire. They will ensure programmes are delivered safely, effectively and in line with organisational objectives, funding requirements and safeguarding standards. The role contributes to improving wellbeing, engagement, aspirations and life opportunities for young people facing disadvantage, risk or inequality.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Delivery & Coordination
