Leadership Course

Women in Football and our lead partner Barclays believe in creating opportunities for women to develop careers in the football industry. Our Leadership Course offers the opportunity to develop your potential as an individual, enhance your personal skills and learn new ones in a positive, supportive environment. The courses are open exclusively to women who are already working, or aspire to work, in the football industry. 

Course overview - Level 1-2

Session one level 1: Start your leadership journey with self-discovery

Session two level 1: Leading self - boosting your confidence

Session three level 2: Build your skills for effective leadership

Session four level 2: Build your skills for effective leadership continued

Sessions include: leadership styles, influencing others and managing your boss, decision making, public speaking, confidence building and many more.

Course overview - Level 3-4

Session one level 3: Leading others - leadership in practice

Session two level 3: Leading others - leadership in practice continued

Session three level 4: Branding and future plans

Session four level 4: Branding and future plans continued

Sessions include: leadership styles and models for your toolkit, inclusive leadership, leading with extended DISC, networking, personal branding and marketing, board ready, personal development plan and group coaching. Level 3-4 also includes extended DISC profile and two group coaching sessions online after the course has ended.

Mentoring Programme

Mentoring is a way to help people develop more effectively. It is a relationship designed between the mentor and mentee to build confidence and support the mentee so they are able to take control of their own development and work.

What is the Women in Football Mentoring Programme?

The programme is designed to help you utilise the power of mentoring to accelerate your career, while also helping your personal growth. It will be led by award-winning Goal 17, world leaders in developing mentoring programmes, who will work in partnership with WIF.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to WIF members aged 18 years and above.

What is included?

- Three half-day remote training sessions to help you prepare for your mentoring experience, find your mentor, support you and your mentor and launch your partnership
- Three months' support from our mentoring experts
- Comprehensive training for your mentor

How do we meet?

With the challenges of social distancing and increased isolation, it has become harder to maintain connections with others. Mentoring gives you the framework for regular effective interactions.

How much does it cost?

The special price for WIF members is £250 + VAT (per person).

You will be required to send a copy of your CV and cover letter (no more than 250 words) explaining why the WIF Mentoring Programme is for you.
